Junior B2 League

 

Our Junior B2 hurlers recorded a narrow one-point victory over Shannon Rovers in Ballinderry on Sunday last with a late Danny Keogh point ensuring a 1-17 to 1-16 win. Well done to all involved.

 

 

Denis Maher RIP

 

Silvermines GAA Club would like to extend deepest sympathy to Denis (Denny) Maher, Capparoe following his sudden passing on Friday last. Denis was a true Gael and maintained an avid interest in the GAA throughout his life. A former Silvermines hurler and club selector Denis was a familiar face at all Silvermines matches down through the years and his encouragement and support of the ‘Mines was renowned throughout the county.

The club would like to offer sincere sympathy to Denis’s brothers Paddy, Sean and Michael, sister Kitty, sisters-in-law Breda, Noreen and Kathy, brother-in-law John Toner, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

North Champions

 

Our U-14 footballers recorded a memorable 3-4 to 2-6victory over Kiladangan in a very entertaining North final in Shallee on Thursday evening last. Congratulations to all involved in what was a fantastic victory (see report on Nenagh Guardian).

 

Juvenile Fixtures

 

Our U-12 A footballers play Eire Og in Nenagh at 6.45pm on this Tuesday the 19th of May and we are awaiting a fixture for the county U-14 football semi-final. Please keep an eye on club updates during the week for confirmation of fistures.

 

LGFA

 

Our Junior ladies footballers were defeated by Slieve Felim in the County Division 3 final in Newport on Sunday on a scoreline of 6-7 to 2-3. Hard luck to the team and mentors. 

 

Tipperary Camogie

 

Congratulations to Niamh and Ellen Cunneen and the Tipperary senior camogie team and mentors following their Munster final victory over Waterford in Semple Stadium on Saturday.
