County Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship

 

The very best of luck to our Premier Intermediate hurlers who take on our near neighbours Templederry in the second round of the county championship in Nenagh at 6.30pm on Saturday evening. All support is greatly appreciated.

 

North Junior B Hurling

Silvermines overcame Knockshegowna on a scoreline of 2-15 to 1-7 in round 3 of the North Junior B Championship in Dolla at 7pm on Saturday evening last. 

The visitors started brightly with an early goal before points from Ronan Cunneen and Orrie Quirke got the scoreboard ticking for the ‘Mines. Quirke and Cunneen continued to cause problems for Knockshe’ in attack and further points from the duo ensured the home side were level at the break 1-3 to 0-6. 

Silvermines pushed on in the second half with an early Eamon Corcoran goal setting the tone before efforts from David Shanahan (free) and Ronan Cunneen edged the ‘Mines further ahead. Silvermines led by 1-10 to 1-5 with seven minutes of normal time remaining with a late injury time goal from the stick of Willie Keogh coupled with a trio of points from Brian Leamy, Willie Keogh and Tiernan Flynn ensuring a deserved eleven-point win for the men in blue and white.

U13B Hurling

Well done to our under 13 hurlers who are through to the North final and a clash with Borris-Ileigh following a 1-13 to 1-7 win over Ballina in Newport on Tuesday evening last. Liam Treacy netted the goal for the Silvermines as they progressed to a hugely anticipated North decider on Saturday morning in Moneygall at 12.30pm.

 

 

U15 A Hurling

Silvermines lost out by 3-12 to 0-6 to a strong Ballina side in Ballina on Thursday evening last. We face Newport in the North quarter-final in Ballina on Thursday evening at 6.45 pm. Best of luck to all involved. 

 

U17 A Hurling

Silvermines lost out by 2-20 to 6-16 against a strong Kilruane side on Monday eveninglast in Dolla. Silvermines will face Nenagh Eire Og in the North Quarter final on this Monday evening 18th August at 6.45 pm in Kilcolman. Best of luck to all involved.

 

U-19 A Hurling

 

Well done to our U-19 hurlers who defeated Ballina by 2-20 to 2-16 in Dolla on Monday evening last. 

Ronan Cuneen, Conor Ryan and Daniel McKelvey were all on target for the ‘Mines in the opening half after Ronan Cuneene afforded the’ Mines a tonic start with an early major.

The visitors kept pace though and took a hard earned 1-12 t0 1-10 to the dressing room at the break. Silvermines drew level in the 40th minute thanks to a Conor Ryan point but Ballina forged a five-point advantage mid-way through the half. Eoin Grace netted to reduce the deficit to two by the 51st minute before two further points from Eoin Grace brought the ’Mines level. 

Silvermines finished the better with points from Conor Ryan, Darragh Treacy and Daniel McKelvey sealing a deserved win for the ‘Mines.

Silvermines will face Borris-Ileigh in the North semi-final this Wednesday eveningin Borris-Ileigh at 6.30 pm. Best of luck to all involved.



U-13 Camogie



Well done to our U-13 development league side who defeated Moycarkey-Borris by 4-5 to 2-1 to set up a county final decider against Thurles Sarsfields on Sunday evening last. 


Tipp U-15 Camogie



Congratulations to Olivia Looby who lined out for Tipperary at the weekend in the Niamh Hogan-Heffernan inter county memorial tournament in Borrisoleigh.
