Late Mary Ryan Mulqueen

Great sadness was occasioned in Silvermines GAA Club last week following the untimely passing of Mary Ryan Mulqueen, Loughisle House, Bawn and formerly of Loughisle, Kilcommon on Monday of last week.

All in Silvermines GAA Club and in Mary’s native Sean Treacy’s GAA Club were deeply saddened to learn of her passing. An active member and supporter of Silvermines GAA Club for many years Mary served as Assistant Treasurer on the club committee for a number of years and was always on hand to assist the club in any way in numerous fundraising activities.

A true Gael she maintained a huge interest in the GAA and her wit, enthusiasm, friendly nature and kind and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her and by all who frequented Dolla GAA Grounds.

Testament to her popularity were the large crowds which attended Mary’s removal in Kilcommon on Wednesday evening last and also at Mary’s Funeral Mass in Silvermines Church on Thursday where representatives from both Silvermines GAA Club and Sean Treacys GAA Club provided a guard of honour.

Silvermines GAA would like to extend heartfelt sympathies to Mary’s daughters Judy and Kara and to her son Fionn. Sympathies are also extended to Mary’s father Michael and to the extended Ryan and Mulqueen families.
