Passing of former Club Chairman
Great sadness was occasioned in the parish of Silvermines last week following the news of the sudden passing of former Silvermines GAA Club Chairman, Liam Gleeson.
A native son of Kilriffith, Dola Liam served as a previous chairman of the club and also as an officer of the club for many years and was a very familiar face to all who frequented Dolla GAA grounds.
A loyal servant to the gorm agus bán of the 'Mines Liam also hurled for many years with Silvermines and testament to his huge popularity and the esteem he was held in were the crowds who turned out for Liam's removal on Saturday evening and again at his Funeral Mass on Sunday morningin Silvermines Church.
The club would like to extend sincere sympathy to Liam's wife Margaret, sons Ronan and Cathal and his daughter Gráinne, brother Denis, sisters Joan and Mary, son-in-law Daniel, daughter-in-law Charlene, cherished grandchildren Rubi-Anna, Cathal Óg, Liam Óg, Oisín, Lúcas, Croía, Lochlan, brothers-in-law Maurice, Seamie, Billy and Jim, sisters-in-law Betty, Maura and Ann, nieces, nephews, extended family, wonderful neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Silvermines GAA Lights Up Campaign
The Silvermines GAA Club is seeking to bring the community together to enjoy healthy walks in the safe, bright, environment of our GAA club. In a bid to make exercise more accessible on the dark winter nights the ‘Ireland Lights Up’ campaign will see the Silvermines GAA Club turn on the walking track floodlights between 7pm and 8pm each Thursday for a six-week period.
The event is being organised by the Silvermines GAA Health and Wellbeing group and is suitable for all ages and abilities. Everyone is encouraged to meet in Dolla from 6.50pm as registration is required each evening. There is no charge.So spread the word and enjoy a walk and a cup of tea or coffee afterwards. All are welcome.
Lotto
Our Lotto jackpot is now €3,500. Tickets can be bought from committee members or in a number of outlets in Nenagh where the Lotto jackpot is displayed. Lotto tickets can also be bought and renewed online.
Membership
2025 Club & Gym Membership are now due. Membership runs from January to December and can be renewed on Foireann website and app. We would kindly ask that everyone renew their membership as soon as possible.
