Silvermines GAA Notes
Silvermines GAA Reunion Night
Silvermines GAA will host a Reunion Night in Buddys, Capparoe on next Saturday October 19th.
While the club has its eyes firmly on the future as we build and develop both on and off the field it is always lovely to remember and remind ourselves of those who wore the jersey before us and who graced the fields of North Tipperary in the famed blue and white of Silvermines.
The following panels will be remembered at the event: 1970 North Minor Championship Winning Panel, the 1972 North and County Intermediate winning panel, the 1974 North Senior Winning Panel, the 1999 North and County Intermediate winning panel.
It promises to be a great night in Buddy’s and all are invited. We look forward to seeing you all there.
We are through to this year’s county Junior B hurling decider following a hard-earned and hard-fought 1-19 to 2-9 victory over a determined Cahir side in Drombane on Saturday afternoon. Well done to our team and management on what was a fantastic day for the club and thank you to all supporters who made the journey.
Junior C side through to North Final
Our Junior C side are through to a North final meeting with Ballina following a fantastic 0-14 to 0-11 victory over Shannon Rovers in Ballinderry on Sunday morning. Silvermines led by 0-6 to 0-5 at the interval following points from Fionn Ryan Mulqueen (two frees), Liam Grace, Sean Quinlan and David Boland (2). In what proved a tight encounter the ‘Mines added to their account with two further points from Fionn Ryan Mulqueen early in the second half while Kieran Fogarty chipped in with a brace also. Going down the home stretch Silvermines kept their noses in front with Ciaran Timmons, David Boland and Fionn Ryan Mulqueen (free) all on target to fire the ‘Mines into the North Final.
