Junior B Hurling

Massive congratulations to our Junior B hurlers who overcame Newport by 2-14 to 0-18 after extra-time in a hugely entertaining North final in Puckane on Saturday afternoon last. The sides were level at 1-8 apiece at the break while a last minute Ronan Cunneen free sending the game to extra-time (2-10 to 0-16), with the ‘Mines goals coming in either half from Ronan Cunneen and Danny Keogh. Silvermines led by two at half-time in extra-time, 2-12 to 0-16 and maintained that lead to claim only our third ever title at this grade.

It has been a great year for the side with manager Declan Nolan now having won the trophy as both a manager with Silvermines and a player with Nenagh Eire Og back in 1994 when he captained Eire Og to victory.

Silvermines will now face Holycross-Ballycahill in the county quarter-final in Templemore on Saturday next at 3pm. Best of luck to all involved as we go in search of county honours.

U-13 Hurling County Champions

Congratulations to our U-13 D hurlers who defeated Holycross/Ballycahill by 1-10 to 1-3 in the county final in Holycross last Saturday morning.

Silvermines got off to a cracking start with Fionn Ryan knifing over an early point before he found the necessary space to net with aplomb minutes later. Ace freetaker, Liam Treacy was in fine form also firing over two points from placed balls (free and a 65’) while adding a third from play. Daniel Sherlock was excellent from close-range arrowing over four points from play while Michael Hynes and Darren McKeogh chipped in with sublime efforts also.

Well done to the boys and mentors on what has been a fantastic year for this up and coming side.

Junior C Hurling

Our Junior C side defeated Kilruane MacDonaghs by 0-16 to 0-11 in Dolla on Sunday last. Well done to all involved. Our next outing will be against Nenagh Eire Og in Nenagh at 12 noon on Sunday next.

Camogie

Hard luck to our senior camogie side who suffered a heavy 7-34 to 3-9 defeat to a very strong Clonoulty side at the weekend.

Lotto Jackpot
