County PIHC Championship

Our Premier Intermediate hurlers face a final round clash against Carrick Swans on Sunday next in Gortnahoe at 6.15pm. Best of luck to all players and mentors.

 

Junior B Hurling

Our Junior B's overcame Portroe in Portroe on Saturday evening on a scoreline of 0-16 to 0-9. The Mines’ led by 0-7 to 0-3 at the break and proved that little bit too strong for Portroe, running out convincing seven-point winners. We are now through to a North quarter-final meeting with Toomevara on Saturday evening at 6.45 pm in Dolla.

  

U-19 ‘A’ Hurling

Our U-19 hurlers lost out to stronger Toomevara by 4-16 to 2-6 on Wednesday evening last in Toomevara but are still through to a North semi-final meeting with Borris-Ileigh in Borrisoleigh on this Wednesday evening at 6.45 pm. Best of luck to all involved.

 

U-17 ‘A’  Hurling

Our U-17 ‘A’ hurlers overcame Burgess in a very entertaining Preliminary Quarter-Final in Puckane on this Monday last and will now face Nenagh Eire Og  in the semi-final. Silvermines trailed by 2-5 to 0-5 at the break but a tremendous second half saw them overcome Burgess by 3-12 to 3-10. We face Nenagh Eire Og in Cloughjordan at 6.45 on Monday 19th August in the quarter-final proper. Best of luck to the team and management.

 

U-15 North B Championship

Our U-15 hurlers lost out to Borris-Ileigh in the North Quarter-Final in Kilcolman on Thursday evening last and following an impressive opening half they trailed by the bare minimum at the break. Borris-Ileigh forged ahead in the second half though to win comfortably by 2-20 to 2-6. Hard luck to all involved.

 

U-13 Hurling

Our under 13 A hurlers lost out to Nenagh Eire Og by 5-10 to 2-9 in their North quarter final clash in Toomevara on Tuesday of last week. Our U-13 D side overcame a weaker Burgess side by 5-5 to no score to comfortably progress to the North semi-final on Sunday evening next against Roscrea in Nenagh at 6.45 pm.

Camogie

Our minor camogie side won by 5-8 to 2-6 over Knockavilla Kickhams in the county championship on Sunday. Having led by 4-5 to 0-5 at the break the ‘Mines girls pushed on well in the second half to register a comfortable win. 

Our under-16’s play Newport/Ballinahinch in Ballinahinch on Wednesday evening 21st August at 7pm while our Senior camogie side face Shannon Rovers in Ballinderry on Saturday 24th at 7pmalso. Our Juniors face Cashel in Cashel on Sunday 25th at 6pm. Best of luck to all our camogie sides.


Ladies Football

Our junior footballers face St. Pat’s in a championship clash in Dolla on Sunday 25th August at 7pm. Best of luck to all players and mentors.

 

Lotto Jackpot

Our club Lotto is now at 12,100 euro. Tickets can be bought from committee members or in a number of outlets in Nenagh where the Lotto jackpot is displayed. Lotto tickets can also be bought and renewed online.

 

Club Fundraiser

Preparations are continuing as the countdown to our ‘One Club’ fundraiser and Family Day begins. Our ‘Dung Bingo’ and Family Day takes place on Sunday 1st September from 2pm to 5pm in Dolla GAA grounds and it sure promises to be a great day out. There will be track and field activities, face painting, live music and some competitions also with Top Bins Challenge, Hang Tough and more. There will also be a Bar-B-Que and refreshments served. A ticket for ten euro buys a 1 metre square plot for the Dung Bingo even plus entry on the day.

We are asking everyone to please support our ‘One Club’ fundraiser. See you all on Sunday 1st September.

 

Sympathy

Silvermines GAA Club would like to extend sympathies to the Mulqueen family following the sad passing of Kathleen Mulqueen (nee Duggan) , Connolly St., Nenagh on Saturday last. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
