County League

Silvermines were defeated by 2-15 to 1-15 in an entertaining county League encounter against Cashel in Leahy Park, Cashel on Sunday last.

Both sides were level at the break, 1-7 to 0-10, with the ‘Mines grabbing the only goal of the first half. The second half proved a hard-fought affair with Cashel racing into a four-point advantage early in the second half. Two goals from the home side added noticeably to their tally and they led by five with fifteen minutes to go.

Silvermines rallied late though and pegged back Cashel’s advantage to two points by the 55th minute. Cashel maintained their lead though and held out to take the victory.

Meanwhile our juniors also lost out to the same opposition in Division 5 of the county league on Saturday evening in Cashel with Cashel recording a narrow 1-21 to 2-16 victory.
