Silvermines GAA Notes

County Senior Hurling League

Silvermines lost out to Carrick Swans by 2-10 to 0-12 in Division 2 of the league in Dolla on Sunday morning last. (see league round-up report).

We travel to Gortnahoe/Glengoole next Sunday for our Division 2 second round encounter. (Throw-In is at 12 noon).

Light Up Thursdays

We are hosting a Light Up Thursday nights initiative in Dolla until the end of March. All are invited to attend Dolla for either walk or run on our track between 7pm and 8pm every Thursday evening.

U-17 Football

We overcame JK Brackens by 4-8 to 1-7 in Templemore on Saturday in what was a good win for the side. Well done boys. We are out against Kilruane on the Easter Bank Holiday Monday at 4pm in Dolla.

U-13 Football 

Silvermines u-13 ‘A’ side lost out by 1-9 to 2-2 to Toomevara Michael's Park on Saturday while the ‘D’ side registered their second win in the competition with a 4-7 to 5-3 victory over Toomevara’s ‘D’ side.

Senior Camogie League

Silvermines lost out by 2-7 to 0-5 in the county senior camogie league in Dolla on Sunday last. Silvermines trailed by 1-5 to 0-1 at the break but were unable to peg back a decent Annacarty side who ran out deserving eight-point winners.

Easter Saturday Run

Silvermines GAA Club will host a 5km and 10km walk/run in Dolla at 11am on Easter Saturday morning next. Registration takes place from 10.30 am onwards and all donations will go directly to funding Health and Wellbeing Events for the local community. There will also be a 2k fun run for children on the walking track. All are invited so please come along and support.

Membership

Membership for 2024 is now open and can be renewed online on the Foireann app or website. This is the easiest way to pay club membership and all membership packages for the club, gym and walking track are clearly set out. Membership must be paid by all players before the season commences.

Allianz League Semi-Final

Commiserations to Jason Forde and the Tipperary team who lost out to Clare in the Allianz league semi-final in Portlaoise on Sunday.

Camogie League Final

Hard luck to Ciara Ryan and Miriam Murphy who were part of the Tipperary side defeated by Cork in the Division 2B league final on Saturday last in Abbottstown in Dublin on Saturday afternoon last.

Our club Lotto has hit the five-figure mark and is now at 10,000 euro. Tickets can be bought from committee members or in a number of outlets in Nenagh where the Lotto jackpot is displayed. Lotto tickets can also be bought and renewed online.
